Wi-Fi Calling
Stay connected when cellular coverage is weak
Wi-Fi Calling lets you make and receive calls over Wi-Fi connection instead of relying only on cellular signal.
When Wi-Fi Calling helps
Use Wi-Fi Calling when you’re:
- Inside a building with poor cellular reception
- In areas with weak or no cellular coverage
- Experiencing dropped calls or poor quality due to low signal
How it works
When Wi-Fi Calling is turned on and you’re connected to a strong Wi-Fi network, your calls work just like regular phone calls.
Benefits
- Better call coverage indoors
- Fewer missed calls in low-signal areas
- Could extend battery life

- Make sure internet access is working properly
Confirm Wi-Fi Calling is turned on
- Verify the Wi-Fi Calling switch is turned on in your phone’s settings
Check for software updates
- Ensure your device has the latest software version installed
Verify your emergency address
- A valid emergency (E911) address must be registered before Wi-Fi Calling can be used
Emergency services (E911)
Setting up an address for Wi-Fi Calling is an FCC requirement to ensure that emergency dispatchers can locate you. Your registered address acts as your default location for 911 calls.
You should always update this address if you move or use your phone in a new primary location for an extended period.
Call quality
Wi-Fi Calling depends on the quality of your internet connection. Calls may disconnect or experience reduced quality if your Wi-Fi connection is weak or unstable.
Turn off Wi-Fi Calling anytime
You can turn off Wi-Fi Calling at any time from your phone’s settings.
